Children's Ward

The Children's Unit provides hospital care for all babies, children and young people from a few days old up to the age of 16 (or older for children with special needs).

Protected meal times
We have two protected meal times. During this time we encourage only parents/carers to stay, to allow the children to eat their meals in more peaceful environment. We also try to reduce any intervention/tests etc.
12.15pm - 12:45pm 5pm - 5.30pm

 

Visiting times
Parents/carers of the child are welcome to visit at any time. Family and friends are welcome during the hours of 11am -8pm.

Unfortunately, due to health , safety and space only one parent can stay with their child overnight, a camp bed is provided for the parent that is staying 
11am until 8pm

Facilities
The ward has a small play room which can be used by children and parents. The ward also has a “Parents room” which can be accessed by parents staying with us, this has a fridge and tea and coffee making facilities.
